Al final Nadal mostró una gran superioridad con fuertes golpes desde el fondo de la cancha.
A pesar de tener cierta paridad en el servicio, Nadal dominó el encuentro en lo momentos cruciales y sólo tuvo que defender cuatros bolas de break.
Este es el segundo trofeo del español en Wimbledon y repite la hazaña del 2008, cuando triunfó de manera seguida en Roland Garros y en Wimbledon, donde acumula 14 victorias consecutivas.
