Today, South Africa and the rest of the world celebrate, for the first time, the Day of Nelson Mandela. It's the 92th birthday of the first black president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Mandela is the first person who the UN (United Nations Organization) dedicates this type of recognition. Nelson Mandela Day, 18 July, was established in November 2009 by the UN General Assembly "for his contribution to the culture of peace and freedom"
Sudáfrica y el resto del mundo celebran hoy, por primera vez, el Día de Nelson Mandela, en el 92º cumpleaños del primer presidente negro de Sudáfrica y premio Nobel de la Paz. Mandela es la primera persona a la que la ONU dedica este tipo de reconocimiento.
El Día de Nelson Mandela, el 18 de julio, fue instituido en noviembre del 2009 por la Asamblea General de la ONU «por su contribución a la cultura de la paz y la libertad».
